How to Pick a Travel Business Name You’ll Still Love 10 Years from Now

Sep 04, 2025

Picking a business name can feel like a big deal. And honestly? It is.

Your name is often the first thing people will see. It sets the tone for your brand and the impression potential clients form in just a few seconds.

But here’s what trips up so many new travel advisors:
They put so much pressure on getting it “perfect”… that they don’t move forward at all.

I see this all the time. People stalling out for weeks on this one decision. But the good news is: it doesn’t have to be stressful.

With a few simple guidelines, you can choose a name that feels like you and still holds up years down the road, even as your business evolves.

1. Keep It Simple and Clear

The best names are:

  • Easy to say
  • Easy to spell
  • Easy to remember

If someone hears it once at a BBQ, they should be able to find you online the next day. Skip the inside jokes and complicated spelling. Go for clarity.

2. Avoid Trends and Cutesy Phrases

It’s tempting to get clever or trendy, especially with travel puns or niche-specific names.
But ask yourself honestly:

  • Will this name still feel like me five years from now?
  • Will it still make sense if I expand to other destinations or types of travel?

You want something timeless, not tied to one season of life, destination, or vibe.

3. Leave Room to Grow

Maybe you’re starting out with Disney or cruise vacations. But what if you decide to add group trips, honeymoons, or wellness travel down the line?

Pick a name that doesn’t box you in. Give yourself space to grow, shift, and evolve as your interests and client base expand.

4. Make Sure It’s Available

This part matters. Before you fall in love with a name, check:

  • Website domain availability
  • Social media handles
  • Business name registration in your state or country

(Pro tip: I walk you through exactly how to do this in Module 2, Lesson 1 of Travel Genius Coaching.)

And here’s the most important part…

You don’t need the perfect name. You need a start.

A name that feels good to you. One that reflects your values and gives you the courage to show up.

You can build a beautiful, successful business from there. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

If you’ve been spinning in circles trying to choose a name, let’s simplify it.
